For first-time visitors, we recommend 3 to 4 full days to cover the must-sees: Forbidden City, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, and a hutong experience. If you have 5 days, you can add a day trip to a less-crowded Great Wall section or explore 798 Art District.
Which Great Wall section is best for me?
Mutianyu is the best all-around choice — restored, scenic, and family-friendly with cable car and toboggan options. Jinshanling is perfect for hikers and photographers seeking a wilder experience. Badaling is the closest to Beijing and most accessible, but also the busiest.
Is Beijing safe for international travelers?
